John B. Maier II is a 25 year veteran of Wall Street and a leading expert in merger, acquisition and financing transactions.
Jack is the Managing Partner and Founder of Legacy Ptrs. & Co, LLC (Legacy II) a leading investment bank focused on the middle market. Prior to re-forming Legacy II in 2010, Jack was Co-Head of Mergers and Acquisitions and Financial Sponsors at FBR Capital Markets. He joined FBR in 2007 when FBR acquired Legacy Partners Group, LLC (Legacy I) which he had founded in 2003. Prior to launching Legacy I, Jack was Global Co-Head of Middle Market M&A at Credit Suisse First Boston (CSFB). He joined CSFB when it acquired Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette (DLJ) where Jack was a partner. At DLJ he helped build and then led the firm’s Exclusive Sales Group, which became the most successful middle market sell-side advisory practice in the history of Wall Street. Prior to joining DLJ Jack was with Wasserstein Perella & Co.
(WP&Co.) in their Los Angeles office. At WP&Co. Jack launched that firm’s Global Logistics and Outsourcing
Practice. He subsequently helped start
WP&Co’s San Francisco banking effort and its West Coast Technology
Practice. A native of Greensboro, NC, Jack completed his undergraduate studies at Wake Forest University and received his MBA with the distinction University Fellow from Georgetown University. He has served on the Board of Advisors at the business schools of both universities, and is currently a director of several private companies and is active in various charitable and civic organizations. |
