John has practiced law for 25 years and has extensive experience in
real estate development, construction related matters and
corporate/commercial litigation. John serves as the ACDL Chief Legal Officer and is also charged with overseeing and managing regulatory and compliance issues within ACDL. Formerly a partner with Heenan
Blaikie, a Canadian national law firm, John has represented several
gaming-related companies, real estate development entities (including
one of the world’s largest shopping centre companies), construction
corporations and many of Canada’s largest energy companies.
John has
advised on developments in North and South America, Europe, Asia, the
Middle East and Australia. He has also appeared before all levels of
Courts in Canada including the Federal and the Supreme Court of
Canada. He is a former professor of law at the University of Alberta
and has a Masters degree in law from the University of Oxford. |
