Aiding Flood Victims in Thai Nguyen Province
Distribution of Emergency Funds to Victims of Flooding in Thai Nguyen Province
After serious flooding in and around the Vietnamese capital of Hanoi during November 2008, thousands of people were driven from their homes. Sensing an opportunity to be of benefit to the community, ACDL CEO David Subotic immediately called the firm to action. Shortly thereafter Jeff Benedict, Vice President of ACDL’s wholly owned Vietnamese subsidiary, Ho Tram Project Company (HTP), led a delegation to Thai Nguyen Province to compensate victims of the flooding around Hanoi. In conjunction with the local People’s Committee, HTP disbursed approximately VDN 180 muillion to 160 of the neediest households in the area in December of 2008. The delegation also visited local schools to spread joy, and some candy, to the children of Thai Nguyen Province.
