Viet Nam
|
Referred to as "the hidden charm," Viet Nam is the easternmost country on the Indochina Peninsula in Southeast Asia, and is home to a large and young population - approximately 87 million people with a median age of 27 years. In 1986, the country instituted economic and political reforms and began a path towards international reintegration. In the last decade, Viet Nam's economic growth has been among the highest in the world rivalled only by China. These efforts culminated in Viet Nam's accession into the World Trade Organization (WTO) in 2007, and its successful bid to become a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council in 2008. |
